The administration of burnout measures, such as the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), can be burdensome due to length, biased because of low response rates and costly. This presentation shares how assessment of items from a regularly administered faculty satisfaction survey, such as self-reported satisfaction, engagement and retention, can be combined into indices and used to approximate MBI burnout measures.
