The Ohio State University College of Nursing

The Ohio State University College of Nursing exists to transform healthcare and improve lives through top-tier teaching, research and innovation, grounded in evidence-based practice and a powerful belief in personal wellness.

Our academic programs offer comprehensive coursework and hands-on experience for future and current healthcare leaders. U.S. News & World Report highly ranks our online master’s (#4), university-wide online bachelor’s including RN to BSN (#1), traditional master’s in nursing (#6) and DNP (#8). Majors include both traditional nursing and programs in healthcare and wellness innovation, and certificates range from school nurse and primary care to nurse education and nurse coaching.

The college’s two research centers – the Martha S. Pitzer Center for Women, Children and Youth and the Center for Healthy Aging, Self-Management and Complex Care – seek innovative solutions to healthcare issues. We received approximately $10.7 million in research awards in FY2019, including $4.3 million in NIH funding. Our Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice (EBP) in Nursing and Healthcare promotes EBP worldwide and offers the first globally-recognized certificate of added qualification in EBP. The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy is home to world-class faculty, dedicated students and innovative researchers working toward improving medications and medication-related health outcomes.

Since 1885, our college has made enormous strides in meeting specific needs of both students and patients, exploring new frontiers in drug discovery and development, pharmaceutical sciences and translational clinical research. These labors have led to more than 40 patents in the past five years for treatments ranging from cancer to heart failure.

The Ohio State University College of Public Health

We are committed to seeking ways to eliminate the obstacles – from toxic exposures to racial health inequities to poor reproductive health care – that hold people back. We believe in creating a learning environment that inspires novel approaches to improving the health and well-being of those in our community, in the nation and throughout the world.

We are home to faculty who are leading the important – and sometimes difficult – conversations about a world full of both challenge and possibility. We are engaged in the international dialogues including those about tobacco control and vaping policy, infectious disease prevention and sexual health. We are finding ways to help parents understand how a child’s early life experiences contribute to health later on, to address the disproportionate burden of early death among babies born to African-American mothers and to shine a light on the risks of long-term brain damage for domestic violence survivors. We are at the forefront of managing the challenges posed by contaminated water and air. And we are addressing critical problems facing our health care system, including inequitable access to both prevention and treatment.

The Ohio State University College of Social Work

The Ohio State University College of Social Work consists of students and faculty who build stronger communities, celebrate difference, and promote social and economic justice. The College readily collaborates with the social work community to improve and resolve an extensive array of contemporary social problems — making it an integral and valuable resource to the State of Ohio and the nation. Through its Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW), Master’s of Social Work (MSW), and PhD degree programs, the College enables students to experience and explore the knowledge, values, and skills required for professional social work practice and research.
