Christa Newtz earned her BSN from The Ohio State University in 1997 and a dual Master's degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing and Community Health Nursing in 2001. She has been a faculty member at the Ohio State College of Nursing since September 2001. She currently teaches the pre-licensure Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing course, the Therapeutic Communication course and the Substance Use in Primary Care course. Christa is the creator and program lead for the Banding Together for Wellness program. This program has been offered to pre-licensure nursing students since 2016.
