Dr. Eileen Moore is a founding member of the Center for Patient Safety at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH). Moore completed her fellowship in Primary Care and Health Policy at Georgetown in 2000 and has been on the faculty of MGUH and Georgetown University School of Medicine (GUSOM) since that time. She currently serves as the Patient Safety Officer for both the MGUH Ambulatory Practices and GUSOM and has a robust clinical practice in Internal Medicine. She also serves on the MGUH Quality and Safety Executive Council.
Moore has a keen interest in progressive medical education and has dedicated much of her career to sharing her passion for safety, quality, and access to care with the next generation of doctors. Toward that end, Moore designed and implemented the Patient Safety Immersion Program, where medical students and new-to-practice nurses learn together in an interactive, interdisciplinary format.
Since 2007, Moore has served as Medical Director for the Health Outreach to Youth and Adults Clinic, the first student-run free clinic in Washington, D.C., located in the D.C. General Emergency Family Shelter. In November, 2016, Moore was named as the founding medical director of the new Health Justice Alliance, a medical-legal partnership that works in an interdisciplinary collaboration to reduce health-harming social determinants. Moore also serves as Associate Dean for Community Education and Advocacy at the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
