Dr. Young started her nursing career with an Associates in Nursing from Pima Community College and completed both her Doctor of Nursing Practice and the Integrative Medicine Fellowship at the University of Arizona. She is an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing in the Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specialty, and her clinical work has predominantly been in community mental health. Her clinical focus and research interests include integrative psychiatry, trauma informed care, auricular acupuncture, and the use of non-ordinary states of consciousness to promote healing.
Abstract Synopsis: A cohort of Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) students attended a resiliency session delivered by faculty as part of a clinical preparation skills intensive. Promoting resiliency skills in PMHNP students could help decrease stress and burnout levels and increase overall wellness.
