Stephanie Urrutia’s passion for food, health and well-being guided her to the nutrition and hospitality fields, which led to her becoming a classically trained Chef and Registered Dietitian. Her diverse background comes from working in sports medicine and physiology with collegiate and professional athletes to dietetics in the clinical and community settings. Her hospitality experience ranges from wine education in Napa Valley and working with small farm to table restaurants to the most renowned restaurants in the world. Stephanie’s current position of Senior Culinary Educator at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, blends her skills as a chef and Registered Dietitian. She develops culinary education and nutrition-focused programs for The James Mobile Education Kitchen and the new James Instructional Kitchen for patients admitted to the James Cancer Hospital; which focuses on nutritionally sound at home meals for oncology patients in and post treatment. She believes all food can fit in a balanced diet that nourishes the body and spirit, to bring strength, happiness and joy.
