Dr. Umit Tokac has a Ph.D. in Measurement and Statistics from Florida State University (FSU). Dr. Tokac has published widely concerning quantitative research in education and healthcare. He received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics education in his home country of Turkey and a second master’s degree from FSU in Research Methods and Statistics. Dr. Tokac is an Assistant Professor of Measurement and Statistics at the College of Nursing, University of Missouri – St. Louis. He teaches graduate-level biostatistics courses and collaborates, with Veteran’s hospitals for several research projects, focusing on veteran behavioral health. In this research, Dr. Tokac investigated the relationship between years in nursing, nurses' mental health, and the effects of these on work impairment during the COVID-19 crisis in the US Midwest region.
