Summit Overview
The 2022 Summit brought together more than 300 clinicians, educators, researchers, and students from 35 states and several countries for two and a half days of evidence‑based learning, collaboration, and wellness activities. The program featured five pre‑conference workshops, multiple keynote and plenary presentations, and a broad slate of concurrent sessions addressing burnout, mental health, resilience, and organizational culture across healthcare professions.
Poster sessions, wellness workshops, and morning fitness activities enriched the experience, while national leaders highlighted the urgent need for system‑level solutions to the growing epidemic of clinician burnout. Together, the 2022 sessions provided a dynamic forum for advancing research, sharing innovations, and strengthening well‑being across clinical, academic, and health system environments.

Programming Highlights
Preconference workshops
Participants could attend multiple preconference sessions focused on well-being, resilience, and organizational strategies in healthcare. Topics included supporting mental health through therapy dog programs, enhancing resilience in health sciences students, building wellness cultures in academic and health systems, and providing emotional support during uncertain times.
Scheduled wellness activities
Wellness and fitness activities were incorporated throughout the summit, offering opportunities for movement and stress reduction. Activities included bootcamp workouts, yoga sessions, Zumba, and a guided walking tour, along with structured recovery breaks to support participant well-being.
Wellness workshops
Interactive wellness workshops provided practical approaches to improving health and well-being. Sessions covered topics such as integrative therapy, healthy eating through cooking demonstrations, and mindfulness-based practices designed to support healthcare professionals experiencing burnout.
Agenda Overview
Day 1: Preconference sessions and welcome reception
The summit began with preconference workshops addressing wellness, resilience, and system-level strategies to improve clinician well-being. The day concluded with a welcome reception and national leadership award presentation, providing opportunities for networking and community building.
Day 2: Keynotes, sessions, and wellness programming
The second day included morning fitness activities, poster sessions, and opening remarks followed by a keynote presentation "Self-Care in Healthcare" by Neha Sangwan, MD. Attendees participated in plenary discussions, concurrent sessions, and wellness workshops focused on clinician health, resilience, and organizational well-being. The day ended with an endnote presentation and a closing wellness activity.
Day 3: Movement, learning, and closing sessions
The final day began with wellness activities, including a walking tour and fitness sessions, along with poster presentations. The agenda featured a keynote "From Awareness to Action: The Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes’ Foundation" by J. Corey Feist, JD, MBA, followed by panel discussion on workplace wellness and suicide prevention, additional concurrent sessions, and wellness workshops. The summit concluded with an endnote presentation, awards, and closing remarks.
