In U.S. emergency departments, approximately 2 million patients require critical care services. Healthcare workers are faced with high stress and unpredictable scenarios, resulting in little time to cope with feelings in between incidents. This presentation shares survey findings from post-intervention implementation of The Pause, an emergency department debriefing program, to determine if levels of burnout, secondary traumatic stress and compassion satisfaction improve with wellness-related interventions.
